UNESCO provides an excellent definition of Cultural Heritage: “Cultural heritage is the legacy of physical artefacts and intangible attributes of a group or society that are inherited from past generations, maintained in the present and bestowed for the benefit of future generations” (http://www.unesco.org/new/en/cairo/culture/tangible-cultural-heritage/).

Working as an archaeologist and art historian, especially dealing with material from the ancient Near East, the preservation of Cultural Heritage is always a factor. I am involved in global Cultural Heritage projects, and I also teach a course on Cultural Heritage for Museum Administrators.
