Ancient Presence, Modern Projection: Torcello, Venice is a project by Milestone Architecture PLLC. As a Milestone Advisory Board member, I contributed to the research, editing, and exhibition for this project.
The subjects of the project are the Byzantine-era Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, the Martyrion of Santa Fosca on Torcello, and their contexts. An architectural survey was conducted using combinations of digital software to produce measured drawings that probe the scope of needed restoration work, and to produce experimental images that document the site, the structures, and their meaning and history.
